Coverage includes Continuation of Coverage in the event of plan insolvency when required by state regulation.
Excess of loss insurance offered to health care providers such as hospitals, hospital systems, physician groups, accountable care organizations and other health care providers who have assumed medical risk by entering into risk-bearing contracts with HMOs, health plans, managed care organizations, insurers, state Medicaid programs, CMS for Medicare programs or self-funded employer groups.
Excess of loss reinsurance offered to regional health insurance companies, captive insurance companies and risk retention groups throughout the United States, US Territories and Cayman. Covered underlying products can include, but are not limited to, first dollar medical (commercial or Medicare), Employer Stop Loss, Exchange, limited benefit, short-term medical and organ transplant. Coverage is available on a period certain or risks attaching basis.

Sequoia’s target market is focused on "specialty" ESL offered through health plans/HMOs with tighter networks and meaningful medical, cost and catastrophic claim management. Target market also includes employer direct contracting arrangements, employer’s utilizing captive strategies and stop loss of large hospital systems focused on managing care within a well-defined network. Traditional ESL will only be considered through our Managed Care distribution sources.
